CALL FOR PAPERS

PRISM, a quarterly journal published by the Center for Complex Operations (CCO) at the National Defense University, is pleased to invite manuscripts for a special edition of PRISM. Specifically, PRISM 7.2 is intended to illuminate and provoke debate on whole-of-government efforts to understand cyberspace from a national security perspective. Each article ought to address this main theme, include a definition of cyberspace, and discuss one or more of the below themes as it pertains to the term.

Competition and conflict
Capacity building
Legislative efforts in the United States
Public-private partnerships
International perspectives
Workforce development
Interagency collaboration
Correlation of data to support decisions

Articles should be no longer than 5,000 words and must emphasize second-and third-order analysis. Authors are encouraged to use clear, persuasive prose and avoid the use of technical or military jargon and hackneyed phrases. Citations are best formatted as endnotes. Additional guidance on manuscript preparation can be found on the CCO website at http://cco.ndu.edu/.

Please direct submissions to prism@ndu.edu or to the address below for receipt no later than June 30, 2017; any manuscripts that are sent to NDU staff email accounts will not be accepted. If you choose to mail a hard copy, please provide a phone number and email for feedback. Please also retain a copy of your submission as we do not return manuscripts.

Publication threshold varies but is largely determined by topical relevance, continuing education for national and international security professionals, scholarly standards of argumentation, quality of writing, and readability.  To help achieve threshold, authors are strongly encouraged to recommend clear solutions or to arm the reader with actionable knowledge.

We review material on a rolling basis. If my staff is unable to publish a submission within four months of acceptance, PRISM will revert publication rights to the author so that they may explore other publication options.

Regards,

Michael Miklaucic
