Commanding Offier Congratulates Tanzanian Shiprider
MAPUTO, Mozambique (Feb. 10, 2010) Commander Mark Kesselring, Commanding Officer of USS Nicholas (FFG 47), congratulates a Tanzanian shiprider during a graduation ceremony aboard the flightdeck. The event was part of Africa Partnership Station (APS) East and helped to train Tanzanian and Mozambican sailors in several areas of shipboard life. APS East is aimed at strengthening global martime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities. High Speed Vessel Swift (HSV 2) and USS Nicholas (FFG 47) are on a regular scheduled deployment within the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
